Next Steps

4 Basic Truths:

God is Holy. He is perfect in every way. He is righteous and just. He is the creator of all things, and He dwells in Heaven.

We are sinners. We are not holy. We are sinners. Sin is anything we think, say, or do that breaks God’s laws. Sin is missing the mark. Our mark or target is the Bible, the Word of God. Anytime we do things the Bible tells us not to do, we have sinned. Anytime we don’t do things the Bible tells us to do, we have sinned. Our sin creates a major problem. Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death….” Death means ‘separation’. Physical death is separation of the soul from the body. Spiritual death is separation of the soul and body from God. Ultimately, we all deserve to be separated from God forever.

Jesus Love us. Jesus is God in the flesh. He came down from Heaven and lived a perfect sinless life as a man. He went to the cross and laid down His life for us. He died in our place and paid the price of sin for us. Three days later, He rose again from the grave. Jesus loves you so much that if you were the only person on earth, He still would have come and died for you.

We must choose to Believe. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish, but will have everlasting life.” Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Have you called on His name? Have you believed in Jesus? Pray and tell God you believe in what Jesus did for you on the cross and that He rose again. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and let Him know that you receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. If you do this with a sincere heart, He will save you from the penalty of sin and He will give you an eternal home in Heaven.

If you would like to know more about how you can have Victory in Jesus please call the church office today at: 615-773-5200

Once you have received Jesus as your Savior, it is important that you follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. Baptism is the first act of obedience for a believer. It is an outward sign of an inward change. Baptism is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is identifying with what Jesus has done for you and symbolizes that you are now a new person in Christ. If you are interested in believer’s baptism, please contact our church office and talk with one of our pastors.

Being an active member of a local church is vital for your spiritual growth. Being a church member connects you with other believers and gives you opportunities to serve the Lord. To become a church member at Victory you must be a baptized believer in Christ and must complete a membership class. If you are interested in becoming a church member, talk with one of our pastors and they would love to speak with you.

Getting connected to a small group is essential for your spiritual growth. Victory offers many small group opportunities. These groups meet for Sunday School and on Wednesday nights. There are also other Bible studies and small group meetings throughout the week. Please visit our Discipleship Groups page to learn more or contact the church office. There is a place for you at Victory Baptist Church!

At Victory we believe that every believer is given a God-given talent and spiritual gift. These talents and gifts are to be used to encourage one another and to advance the Kingdom of God for His glory! Once you become a member of Victory, we will work with you to discover your gifts and how you can serve in the church. After a 6-month period, for us to get to know you, there will be opportunities for you to get plugged in and serve.
